Africa Foundation

Turkey started to develop its relations with the African Continent since the end of the 1990s. Today, relations are taken to an advanced level, both in terms of political representation, economic and cultural. The humanitarian policy that Turkey has presented to its partners in the region results in a trusting view of Turkey and a healthy development of relations.

Turkey’s developing relations with Africa make it necessary to get to know the continent more closely and to create civil elements that will contribute to the relations. In response to this, the Africa Foundation started its activities in 2015 as an Ankara-based non-governmental organization engaged in education and research on Africa.

Vision

To ensure the formation of a direct and permanent relationship between Turkey and Africa, to support these relations and to maintain them for many years.

Mission

To build knowledge on African studies in Turkey. To produce outputs in this field, to publish the produced outputs in digital or printed form. To raise awareness about Continental Africa, to deliver the outputs to large masses, to increase communication and interaction. To create human resources to work in the African field in Turkey and to support the existing ones. To develop the network on the relations between Africa and Turkey.
